The Mastercard Foundation: Networking for Social Change

inHive, in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, conducted research into the feasibility of a Global Alumni Network looking to bring people together from across the Mastercard Foundation portfolio in Africa.

It includes input from over 300 current and former program participants as well as partner institution staff from 19 countries and 23 partner programs.

While this report is written with the Mastercard Foundation’s portfolio in mind, it is also informed by inHive’s broader experience and expertise in this area. As a result of this insight, many of the findings will be transferable to those looking to create a similar network.

About This Project

Future First Global, in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, has conducted research into the feasibility of a Global Alumni Network, which would bring people together from across the Mastercard Foundation portfolio in Africa.

In order to ensure that youth voice is placed at the centre of the project, program participant and alumni inputs were critical in the design process. Over six months, Future First Global ran focus groups, interviews, and surveys with over 300 current and former program participants as well as partner institution staff from 19 countries and 23 partner programs.
